ELM CITY - Gary Ray Joyner, 57, died Monday, February 7, 2022.
Funeral, Thursday, 1:00 PM, Evergreen Memorial Park.
Gary lived a life of and with great physical and personal challenges, yet he rarely complained. Despite these challenges and adversities, he was a gentle, caring and loving soul, devoted to his family and loved ones. He was a person of honesty, dependability and trustworthiness to all. He took great pride in his work and was, almost to a fault, meticulous in all these endeavors. His life was one of honest, quiet and unassuming independence which could easily be a model for many, especially those who may have or are faced with similar obstacles and tragedies.
He is survived by his father, Gordon L. Joyner, of Elm City.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rachel Creech Joyner, and his brothers, Mark Wayne Joyner and Michael Lee Joyner.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), PO Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929.
