SELMA - Wilmer Wright Whitley, 84, died Thursday, February 25, 2016.
Funeral, Sunday, 2:00 PM, Wilson Memorial Service, followed by a time of visiting and sharing. Burial, Bailey Cemetery.
He grew up outside of Bailey in Nash County on the family farm and worked as a farmer for many years. He retired from Wilson Trailer Sales in Wilson with over 40 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Marie Boykin Whitley and Lola Dixon Whitley; parents, Samuel Hubert Whitley and Oda Rhodes Whitley; brothers and sisters, Dick, Bill, Johnny, IB, Alma and Janie.
Surviving is his daughter, Darlene Pittman (Bruce) of Princeton; granddaughter, Gena Phillips (Brandon) of Pine Level; great-grandchildren, Addyson, Brenna and Gavin Phillips; step-daughter, Becky Hamm (Bruce) of Winston Salem; step-grandchildren, Gregg Hamm (Barbara), and Mike Hamm (Robin) all of Winston Salem; and brother, Buck Whitley of Wilson.
Family and friends will meet at the home of Darlene Pittman, 227 Bizzell Braswell Rd, Princeton.
