Warren Page

BATH - Warren "Dub" Marshall Page of Bath, NC, and previously of Wilson, NC, went to join his savior on January 6, 2014, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease.

"Dub" was an amazing husband, brother, father, and grandfather whose loss will be deeply felt by his family and many friends and neighbors. He never met a stranger, only a new friend.

He was born on January 21, 1925, in Harnett County, to Nelly Heath Page. He is survived by his wife, Irene Lewis Page of Bath,NC whom he married on March 4, 1948. He is also survived by son Martin Page (Debbie) and his daughter Marsha Page Daniel (Gary). Mr. Page is also survived by six grandchildren, Riann Potts (Travis), Kelsey Daniel, Tucker Daniel, Dylan Page, and Dane Page, Daisy Woolard Adams (her own Dub!) as well as one great-grandchild, Emma Page Jones, and his " other" 3 girls Becky Byrd (Erick), Debbie Bradley(Lawrence), and Pat Perry (Ricky). He was also a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews that he loved like his own kids.

He was preceded in death by brothers Seavy and Sam Page and sisters Cornell Tyson, Inez Johnson, and Doris Cole.

"Dub" was an auto mechanic shop owner for many years prior to joining Wilson Tech as an automotive instructor in the early 1960's. After teaching for two decades, he retired in 1983 to his beloved Bath, NC, to enjoy life by the Pamlico River. He loved fishing, boating, gardening, helping with neighbor's projects, and puttering in the garage. He was an active member of the Bath United Methodist Church and a member of the parsonage committee and the Methodist Men. He was also an active volunteer for many years with the Martha Project in Belhaven, NC. After Hurricane Andrew, he volunteered for two months rebuilding a cousin's house as well as eleven others in her Miami neighborhood.

He was a 1st Lieutenant in the Merchant Marines and served in the Pacific theater in WWII, using his mechanical skills in dangerous situations in the South Pacific islands for the U.S. Army Transportation Corps.
Mr. Page was also instrumental in the founding of the Wilson County Rescue Squad in the 1960s and served as a captain in the organization for many years. He dedicated many hours volunteering with the squad to ensure the health and safety of his community.

Mr. Page's service will be on Thursday, January 9th. Graveside will be at 4 p.m. at Maplewood Cemetery in Wilson. Reverend Ray Pierce will conduct his memorial service at 6:30 p.m. at Wilson Memorial Service at 2811 Fieldstream Drive. N. The family will greet friends after the service.

A memorial service honoring Mr. Page will also be held at his home church, Bath United Methodist, on Friday January 10th at 11 a.m. The family will greet friends after the service in the Fellowship Hall.
