Wallace Owens

WILSON - Wallace Benjamin Owens, 67, died Tuesday, September 4, 2018.

Funeral, Friday, 7:00 PM, Wilson Memorial Service, followed by a time of visiting and sharing.  Burial, Saturday, 10:00 AM, Evergreen Memorial Park.

Wallace was a man of few words and he did not waste them on idle chatter.  He loved his wife, Carol Hearne Owens, to whom he was married for 46 years. His cats – Squirt and Sassy – were his joy.  He loved his family and was there in times of need.  He loved golf and fishing and spent many happy hours doing both.

Surviving in addition to his Carol are his sisters, Sylvia Matthews and Bonnie Garner of Wilson, Marty Grady (Relmond) of Goldsboro; sisters-in-law, Brenda Owens of Wilson and Jean Owens of Lynchburg, VA; brother-in-law, Donnie Hearne (Mary Ann) of Ridgeville, SC; many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Bennie W. and Martha Thelma Williams Owens; brothers, Owen Owens of Lynchburg, VA, and William Joseph Owens of Wilson; a special niece, Tammy Tant; Carol’s parents, Rufus and Linda Howard Hearne and step-mother, Dorothy Hearne.
