Virginia Womble

ELM CITY - Virginia "Gensy" Lee Howell Womble, 80, died Thursday, April 9, 2015, peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born on April 11, 1934.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, 11:00 AM, at Maplewood Cemetery. The Rev. Johnny Sullivan will officiate.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Fritz Womble; her parents, Wade and Sallie Howell; and her sister, Wilhemina Williamson.
She is survived by her daughter, Lorrie Womble of the home; sons, Donnie Womble of Dallas TX, George Womble (Brenda) of Black Creek and Dale Womble (Stacey) of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Brad, Nickie, Holden, Hayden and Harlee; sisters, Daisy Howard (George) and Deanie Felton both of Wilson.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, 6 - 7:30 PM, at Wilson Memorial Service, and at other times at the home at 5517 Weaver Road, Elm City.
A special thank you to Barbara Denton, her caregiver for the last four years. Also thanks to her physician, Dr. Tonya Little and her staff, and Hospice of Wilson Medical Center.
