Timothy James “Tim” Oteri, 58, of Wilson, died Monday, February 3, 2025.
Funeral Mass, Friday, March 14, 2025, Noon at St. Therese Catholic Church in Wilson, NC.
Tim was born May 22, 1966, in Cambridge, MA.
Tim graduated from Minuteman Tech High School in Lexington, Massachusetts. He worked in security and law enforcement where he was a Belmont Auxiliary Police Officer and a Boston Special Police Officer. Tim received the Resolution Life Saving Award from the City of Boston for saving a man’s life who had jumped into Dorchester Bay. The City of Boston declared May 2, Officer Timothy J. Oteri Day. Tim volunteered with the Wilson County EMS and graduated from Nash Community College in the Criminal Justice Technology program.
He was preceded in death by his father Gregory Richard Oteri in April 2022.
Tim is survived by his mother, Carrie Elizabeth Fries Oteri of Rocky Mount; sister, Christy Tierney (Patrick) of North Billerica, MA; brothers, Richard S. Oteri (Megan) of Wilson and Scott D. Oteri (Cherie) of Rocky Mount; nephews, Benjamin Oteri and Hunter Tierney.
