Sybil Pardo

Sybil Jones Pardo, 83, of Wilson, died Saturday, November 6, 2021.

Funeral, Tuesday, 2:00 PM, Walstonburg Cemetery.  The family will be at Wilson Memorial Service, Monday, 6:30 – 7:30 PM.

Surviving is her daughter, Terry Jones Kirkland (Robert III) of Wilson; their children, R.E. ‘Bert’ Kirkland IV, (Ashley S.) of Williamsburg, VA; Gardner K. Orr (Daniel) of Raleigh and Thomas A. Kirkland (Alexandra) of Durham; “Ganny” will also be missed by her great-grandchildren, Robert “Teddy” Kirkland V, Caroline Kirkland, Smith Orr and Wells Orr.

She married Donald Pardo in 1976 and they moved to his native Canada for several years.  They returned to Wilson some five years later for she wished to be nearer her grandchildren.  She went on to retire from Wells Fargo Bank in 2008 and her outgoing nature made her a favorite teller of many customers.  Sybil had many friends – young and old – and she loved spending time with all of them.  She was always young at heart and brought joy and laughter wherever she went.

Preceding her in death in addition to her husband, Donald A. Pardo, in 2005, were her parents, E. D. and Flora Cunningham Jones of Greene County; brothers, Ralph W. Jones and Douglas B. Jones.

Her family would like to thank the staff of Parkwood Village and Community Hospice for their care.  Parkwood Village became like her second family.  The care and attention she received from so many including Ashli Proctor, Amy Stokes and Mandy Harris with Community Hospice will always be appreciated.
