Sue Walston

Sue Whitworth Walston, 79, of the Dunns Crossroads Community, Elm City, died Tuesday, February 14, 2024, in Greenville.

Funeral, Saturday, 11:00 AM, Grace Baptist Church, Wilson, with a time of visiting and sharing beginning an hour before the service.

Nursing was her life’s desire and she graduated from the Wilson School of Nursing and further education at East Carolina University.  She worked with the health departments in Wilson and Nash counties for over 44 years.

Surviving is her husband, Doug Walston; daughter, Beth Bowen (Jamey) of Stantonsburg; son, Wally Walston (Angie) of Wilson; granddaughters, Katy Walker (Daniel), Leacy and Aubrey Bowen, Olivia and Ella Walston; sisters, Carolyn Worrell of Maryland, Janet Byrns of Fremont, and Linda Davis of Goldsboro and brothers, Dickie Whitworth of West Virginia, Jimmy Whitworth of Fremont and Larry Whitworth of Fremont.

She was born in Wayne County and her parents were the late Richard and Frances Evans Whitworth of Fremont.
