WILSON - Stephen John Muirhead, 61, died Wednesday, September 12, 2012.

Funeral, Saturday, 2 PM, First Presbyterian Church, 414 Sunset Road NW with visiting to follow at the church. Interment, Sunday, 2 PM, C. Graham Cemetery, 5300 Hampton Road, Conway, SC.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Muirhead.

Steve was truly a loving father, son, husband, and grandfather affectionately referred to as "Bubby" by his grandchildren. To have lost him is to have lost a great man that was a friend to all, and a father and grandfather who was second to none.

Surviving is his wife, Judy Adams Muirhead of Wilson; mother, Ruby Graham Muirhead of Myrtle Beach, SC; daughters, Jennifer Muirhead Grimsley and husband, Jason, of Florence, SC, Meredith Muirhead Johnson and husband, Chris, of Anderson, SC, Erin Muirhead Drago and husband, Matt, of Anderson, SC, Stacey Shackelford Coyte and husband, Brett, of Wilson, NC, and Holly Shackelford Green and husband, Leo, of Wilson; grandchildren, Jack Whitfield Grimsley and Ella Haynes Grimsley; Hadley Kate Johnson, Norah Claire Johnson, and Macey Jane Johnson; Marlee Adams Drago and Gretta Carolyn Drago; Georgia Lawrence Coyte; Michael Candler Matthews, Jr., William Warren Matthews, Eldon Leo Green IV, and Gaillard Pinckney Green. Also survived by his brother, Jack Muirhead and wife, Carol, of St. Louis, MO; niece, Melinda Smith and husband, Brian, and their son, Nathan, of St. Louis, MO; nephew, Michael Muirhead of St. Louis, MO; brother-in-law, Bill Adams of Wilson; niece, Blair Adams Risinger and husband, John, and their son, Miles, and daughter, Clara, of Raleigh and niece, Lisa Adams DuBose and husband, Warren, of Raleigh and many close friends and family.

The family will be receiving friends at 2102 Chelsea Drive, Friday evening.
