Stafford Patterson

WILSON - Stafford Allen Patterson, 88, died Friday, May 29, 2009. He had served in the Army in World War II where he received a battlefield commission in the European Theatre and left as a 1st Lt. at the end of the war. Awards were the Bronze Star, with Valor, and Purple Heart. He retired from J. P. Taylor Tobacco Company with 38 years of employment. Funeral, Monday, 11 AM, First United Methodist Church. Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Rebecca 'Becky' Johnson Patterson: brother, Joseph D. Patterson of Smithfield: several nieces and nephews.
