WILLIAMSBURG, VA - Shirley Hathaway Casey-Warren, 75, died Saturday, May 5, 2018.

Funeral, Saturday, May 12, Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream Dr, Wilson, NC at 1:00 PM, with a time of visiting beginning at 11:00 AM.  Burial, Cedar Grove Cemetery, Elm City, NC.

She completed her earthly journey for eternal rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 7:44 AM, surrounded by her loving family.  She was a faithful member of Green Springs Chapel Church in Williamsburg until her illness prevented her from attending.  She had a passion for Jesus and in her quiet and sweet way would tell others of his love and care for them, sometimes at prompting from Jesus and other times because she felt the need.

Shirley worked at Eastern State Hospital for 27 years.  She grew up in Elm City graduating with the Class of 1961.

Mrs. Casey-Warren was preceded in death by her parents, James and Thelma Hathaway and husbands, David Thomas Warren and Ralph "Pete" Casey; step-father, Johnnie Watson; brothers, Johnny “Sonny” Watson, Jr., Timmy Watson, Jimmy Watson and her maternal grandparents.

She is survived by son, Michael Casey of the home and step-son, Tommy Warren of Williamsburg, VA; step-daughter, Phyllis Warren Webb of Gloucester, VA; four grandchildren, Michael “Mikey” Casey, Kimberly Warren, Shelby Warren and Jordan Webb;  sisters, Edna Hathaway Wilson of Colonial Heights, VA, Carolyn Upchurch (Edward) of Elm City, Linda Summerlin of Elm City, Patricia “Pat” Jones of Wilson, Frankie Sweatt (Eddie) of Fayetteville; and Helen Reusch (Glenn) of Rochelle, VA; brothers; James “Tony” Watson (Lydia) and Dennis Watson of Williamsburg, VA, Julian Watson (Paula) of Mathews, VA, and Charles Ingram (Carolyn) of Kenansville; numerous nieces and nephews.
