WILSON - Ruth Pope Askew, 84, died Saturday, May 2, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam W. Askew, on April 22, 2009 and was a member of First Baptist Church. Funeral, Tuesday, 2 PM, Wilson Memorial Service followed by a time of visiting and sharing. Surviving is her daughter, Ann O'Connell (Ken) of Charlotte: son, Phil Askew (Lynn) of Wilson: grandchildren, Kathy and Chris O'Connell, Emily Askew and her husband, Scott Lovett and sister, Ethelene O'Neal of Newport. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church, PO Box 1467, Wilson, NC 27894. The family will be at 1605 Woodside Drive. of Charlotte; son, Phil Askew
