Romaine Woodard

Romaine Clark Woodard died peacefully on September 24, 2019 surrounded by her family.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, September 27, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church, Wilson, at 11:00 AM.  Her family will receive friends in Clark Hall immediately following the service and other times at home 1700 Nash Street NW.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Romaine Clark Woodard and David Warren Woodard.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Mary Romaine “Robin” Hauser, Anderson Peters Griffin, Coalter Paxton Peters, Jr. and his wife, Summer; her grandchildren, Anna Merritt Hauser and Joseph Alan "Trey" Griffin III.  She is fondly remembered by her brother and his family, David Warren Woodard, Jr. and his wife, Mial, and their daughters, Romaine Clark Woodard, Kate Woodard Marks and her husband, Smith, and Warren Woodard.

Romaine was a grateful servant, devoted mother and grandmother and beloved friend to all.  All that knew her can attest to her generous spirit and her unique personality.  She was truly one of a kind and unforgettable.

She channeled her originality while she was associated with Barnes and Flippin Interiors.  For fifty years, she contributed her talents and creativity in artistic design.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to The McKinnon Fund or the Woodard Legacy at First Presbyterian Church, PO Box 3184, Wilson, NC 27895.
