Robert Arthur Stamper, Jr., 92, died Friday, October 13, 2006 at Avante Nursing Home. He was born in Hookerton and moved to Wilson in his youth. Mr. Stamper was retired from Imperial Tobacco Company of Great Britian and Ireland with 48 years of service. He served in the Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. Funeral, Monday, 2:00 PM, First United Methodist Church, conducted by Dr. William M. Presnell and Rev. Daniel P. Jones. Interment, Maplewood Cemetery. Surviving: wife of 58 years, Annie Pat Fuller Stamper: sons, Robert Arthur Stamper, III of Wilson and David Palmer Stamper of Cary: three grandchildren, Katherine Stamper Alipour of Raleigh, David Palmer Stamper, Jr. of Chicago and Anna Kristian Stamper Howell of Philadelphia: great-grandchildren, Simeon and Selah Stamper of Chicago. The family will receive friends Sunday, 5:00 - 6:30, at Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream Drive.
