STANTONSBURG - Rev. A. Max Patterson, 72, died Thursday, September 16, 2010 in his home. He was the pastor of First Baptist Church. Funeral, Friday, 7pm, First Baptist Church, Stantonsburg, followed by visiting. Surviving is his wife, Barbara Tidwell Patterson; son, Joel Patterson and wife, Ashley, of Wilson; daughter, Suzanne Patterson and special friend, Terri Cooke, of Stantonsburg; brother, Joe "Butch" Patterson and wife, Margaret, of Greenville, S.C.; sister-in-law, Sandra Poole and husband ,Joe, of Greenville, S.C. and several nieces and nephews. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church, PO Box 57, Stantonsburg NC 27883 or Hope Station, PO Box 2164, Wilson NC 27894. His body will lie in state at the church after 1 pm on Friday.
