Reide Watson Bynum, 78, of Stantonsburg, died Sunday, July 10, 2022.

Funeral, Wednesday, 11:00 AM, Stantonsburg United Methodist Church.  Interment, Stantonsburg Cemetery.  The family will be at Wilson Memorial Service, Tuesday, 6:30- 8:00 PM.

Mrs. Bynum was born in Wilson on September 19,1943 to H.L. Watson and Rachel Monk Watson.  She graduated from St. Mary’s Junior College where she was a member of the Honor Council and served as President of The Circle.  She subsequently graduated from Atlantic Christian College and obtained her Masters of Education from East Carolina University.

She married the love of her life, Edwin Bynum, in 1963 and resided in Stantonsburg to raise her family.  An active member of the Stantonsburg United Methodist Church, she faithfully worshipped and enjoyed volunteer service with Hospice of Wilson and Wilson Memorial Hospital.  She loved spending time at Emerald Isle, playing tennis, gardening, and was a crossword puzzle enthusiast.  She made her debut in 1962 at the North Carolina Terpsichorean Ball.   Her family, friends and her Lord were always on her mind and dear to her.

Surviving is her husband of 59 years, Edwin Bynum of Stantonsburg; daughters, Beth Bynum Radulovic (Jim) of Raleigh, and Susan Bynum Grider (David) of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Michael and Emily Radulovic, and John David and Grace Grider; sister, Rae Watson Lyons (Boyd) of Atlanta, GA; brother, Larry Watson of Blowing Rock; brother-in-law, Walt Bynum (Susan) of Stantonsburg; numerous nieces and nephews.  

The family wishes to gratefully thank the staff of Parkwood Village and Community Home and Health Hospice for their love, care, and support.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stantonsburg United Methodist Church, PO Box 6, Stantonsburg, NC 27883.
