Ralph Wheeler

Ralph Bailey Wheeler, 71, of Elm City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at his home.

A service for his family will be held at a later date.

Ralph joined the Army after high school and was a member of the 82^nd Airborne at Fort Bragg.  After the service, Ralph worked as a barber starting with New Image Barber Shop and later with Airport Road Barber Shop until he retired.  He was an avid sports fan, especially anything to do with the UNC Tarheels.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Bailey Queen; father, Robert M. Wheeler; step-father, Jack Queen and sister, Jacci Queen.

Ralph is survived by his brothers, Bobby Wheeler (Faith) of Wilson and Gil Wheeler (Janet) of Elm City and several nephews and a niece.
