Ralph Godwin

William Ralph Godwin, 78, of Wilson, entered his heavenly home, Wednesday, March 23, 2022.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 26, 3:00 PM, at Wilson Memorial Service. There will be a time of visiting and sharing one hour prior to the service. Interment, Maplewood Cemetery.

Ralph graduated from Ralph L. Fike High School in 1961, and got his business degree from Kings Business College in Raleigh. He worked as Senior Accountant for over 20 years with A.E. Finley &Associates of Raleigh and was co-owner of A.E. Finley & Associates of Richmond, VA. He later started his own commercial landscaping business and retired from that five years ago.  Ralph enjoyed watching and participating in most any sport, and was a member of The Softball Hall of Fame.  He loved to play golf and bowl as well.  Ralph loved people and loved life. He was kind and a country gentleman and loved his Lord and his church and his family and never tired of talking about his sons.

He is survived by his sons, Robert Godwin of Charlotte, Tyler Godwin (Megan) of Baltimore, MD and Chase Godwin (Kristina) of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Spencer, Cooper, Colt, Kora, Sebastian and Archer Godwin; sister, Ruthe Godwin Farmer of Wilson; brother, Kenneth Godwin (Bonita) of Smithfield.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Henry and Maggie Williams Godwin; sisters, Louise Godwin, Shelby Jean Sutton and Mae Joyner; brothers, Steve, Moses and Jesse Godwin.
