Rachel Wade

Rachel Ann Burgess Wade, 91, of Middlesex, died Tuesday, August 20, 2024.

The funeral will be Monday, August 26, 2:00 PM, at Wilson Memorial Service followed by visitation. Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Middlesex.

Mrs. Wade enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a retired hairdresser and was very independent. She enjoyed puzzles, puzzle books, and traveling, especially to the beach. 

She is survived by her sons, Jerry Smith (Melba) of Pleasant Garden, Wayne Smith (Mary) of Burns, TN, and John Wade of Greensboro; daughters, Kim Liles (Britches) of Bailey and Cindy Evans (Jimmy) of Middlesex; grandchildren, Sonia Ashworth (Brian), Meghan Smith (Aaron), Mary Kate Brewer (Cody), Matt Stone, Kristal Peele, Skeeter Liles (Casey), and Amanda Joyner (Seth); great-grandchildren, Samantha Jaynes (William), Ryne Yates, Kenzie Brewer, Elias Brewer, Aria Ridley, Braxton Liles, and Gracelynn Joyner; great-great-grandchildren, Liam Jaynes, Oliver Jaynes, and Jasper Jaynes; sister Rebecca Wright (Bill) of Pleasant Garden.

Mrs. Wade was preceded in death by her husband John Wade; daughter, Susan Boger; parents, William and Annie Smith Burgess and six siblings.
