Penny Jackson

Penelope “Penny” Dew Jackson, 78, of Bailey, died Thursday, January 21, 2021 after a battle with cancer.

The family will be at Wilson Memorial Service, Wilson, Monday, 6:00 – 8:00 PM.  Mask and social distancing are required.  The funeral will be for and at the convenience of the family.

She graduated from Bailey High School and Chowan College.  She was active in the community in the Virginia Dare Book Club, Bible Study Group, Meals-on-Wheels, Bailey United Methodist Church and was an avid NC State Wolfpack fan.  She retired as a librarian for Carolina Power & Light and was a member of their Pioneer Club.

Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Nannie Brantley Dew; sister, Gloria Morris (Ted); brother, Ben Dew (Nancy); brothers-in-law, Bobby Lee Finch and Harlow Fowler.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, William “Bill” Jackson; daughter, Olivia Denise Parnell (Robert, Jr.) of Wilson; sisters, Patricia Finch of Bailey and Nancy Fowler of Apex; brother, Bobby Dew (Shirley) of Bailey.
