Pastor Gerald Wiggs, 82, of Middlesex, died Sunday, July 12, 2020.
The visitation will be at Faith Harvest, 8600 S Hwy 231, Middlesex, Wednesday, 6:00-8:00 PM. The Funeral will be Thursday, 2:00 PM at Faith Harvest. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.
Pastor Wiggs served in the U.S. Air Force for four years and pastored Gateway Christian Center in Middlesex for over 45 years. He started a mission work in the Dominican Republic where he built a home for children and over 20 churches.
He is survived by his wife, Geraline Skinner Wiggs; daughter, Sonya Strother (Scott) of Sims; son, Pastor Brad Wiggs (Lisa) of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Josh Wiggs (Brooke), Amber Wiggs and Landon Wiggs; Caleb Strother, Jordan Strother (Katie), Nathan Strother and Sydney Strother; four great-grandchildren; brother, Everette Wiggs (Peggy) of Middlesex; sister, Pennettie Manning (Jim) of Middlesex; sister-in-law, Mary Wiggs of Chipley, FL.; special pet, Toby.
Pastor Wiggs was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Rachel Murray Wiggs and a brother, James Wiggs.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Nash UNC Hospice Care.
