Myrtle Dean Turnage, 84, of Wilson, NC passed away peacefully September 9, 2024.

A graveside service will be at Evergreen Memorial Park, Thursday, at 11:00 AM.

She was born in Wilson County on November 17, 1939 to the late James Henry Turnage and Liberty Love Baker Turnage. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Barbara Ann Turnage Williamson (LaFayette), brother, James Wesley Turnage (Pat), and a great, great nephew, Brayden Jordan.

She is survived by her nieces Angie Turnage Holloman (David) of Wilson, Anita Turnage Jones (Timothy) of Wilson, and April Williamson of Princeton; nephews, Jim Williamson (Deanne) of Raleigh and Kent Williamson (Lisa) of Brentwood, TN. She is also survived by her great-nieces and nephews Levi Holloman (Marina), Trevor Holloman (Ashley), Caitlin Jones Webb (Justin), Ethan Jones (Hannah), Camille Jordan (Quint), Dr. Kelsey Williamson, Troy Williamson (Jenny) and Reed Williamson. The surviving great-great nieces and nephews are Lacey Jordan, Henry Jordan, Allison Williamson, Atlas Jones, Oliver Jones, Merritt Jones, Ben Webb, and two more on the way. 

Myrtle spent her life in the restaurant industry in Manteo, NC and the printing industry in Wilson, NC. She was a motherly figure to all of her nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of her great-great nephew Ben Webb to the Shriners Hospital for Children, PO Box 12829, New Bern, NC 28561.
