Myrtie Davis

Myrtie Long Davis, 98, of Wilson, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Thursday, January 9, 2020.

Funeral, Sunday, 3:00 PM, Wilson Memorial Service.  The visitation will be one hour before the funeral.  Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.

She is survived by her daughter, Lavonne Davis of Raleigh; son, G. Ray Davis of Wilson; grandchildren, Laura Jones (Steve), Karyn Harwood (Cliff), Phillip Truong and Heather Truong; great-grandchildren, Steven Herron, Ericka Keel, Sydney Jones, Christopher, Chase and Cassitie Truong and Cole Evans; great-great-granddaughter, Hazel Truong; sister, Virginia L. Winstead of Charlotte.

Mrs. Davis was born in Nash County to the late Avery C. and Clyde Sherrod Long.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, George T. Davis, Jr; daughter, Brenda Truong; son, Ricky Davis; sisters, Gertrude Cooper and husband, McLean and Thula Winstead and husband, Leon; brothers, Pershing and wife, Thelma Hyde Long and Charles and wife, Doris Skinner Long; brother-in-law, Horace Winstead.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
