Minnie Etheridge

WILSON - Minnie Whitley Dees Etheridge, 88, died Sunday, November 5, 2006, at home. She was born November 3, 1918, in Fremont to the late Isaac Dees and Minnie Whitley Dees. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James E. Etheridge, in 2005: sisters, Winnie D. Bruton, Della D. Yelverton: brothers, Dred Dees and James Dees. Mrs. Etheridge is survived by her sons and their spouses, J. Edward Etheridge and Genny Hale Etheridge of Wilson and William (Bill) I. Etheridge and Catherine Cowdery Etheridge of Raleigh: eight grandchildren: twin brother, Isaac Dees, Jr, of Swansboro: several nieces and nephews. She graduated from Peace Institute High School (now Peace College), attended Greensboro College and graduated from Atlantic Christian College (now Barton College). She was a life long Methodist, elementary school teacher in Goldsboro and Portsmouth, VA, and office manager of her husband's dental practice in Wilson. Above all, she was a caring and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her yard and flowers. The family will be at Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream Drive, Wednesday, 7:00 - 8:30 PM. A family graveside service will be held on Thursday.
