WILSON - Mildred Morton Gorman, 78, died Friday, March 4, 2011. Mildred graduated from James Walker School of Nursing in Wilmington and was a retired registered nurse at Wayne Memorial Hospital with over 25 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover C. Gorman, Jr. and daughter, Ann Gorman Jones. Funeral, Tuesday, 10 AM, First Baptist Church, Wilson. Interment, Oakdale Cemetery, Wilmington. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Spiron of Indian Trail and Nancy Shackleford and husband, Jeff, of Wilson; son, G.C. "Butch" Gorman, III, and wife, Carolina, of Fort Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren, Taylor and Kathryn Shackleford, John and Sarah Spiron, Blake Jones and wife, Kasie, and Brooke Jones, Audrey Gorman and Kristen Arnett; sisters, Lilli Thomas and husband, Rudy, of Tarboro, Faye Davis and husband, Ernest, of Hurdle Mills and Carol Pittman of Charlotte; brother, Buddy Morton and wife, Louise, of Jacksonville.
