Mickey Little

WILSON - James D. “Mickey” Little, 88, died Sunday, December 2, 2018.

Funeral, First Baptist Church, Wednesday, 2:00 PM, followed by a time of visiting and sharing.

Mickey was the founder and owner of James D. Little Construction Company.  Throughout his life he gave his time and talents to organizations on the local, state and national levels.  Mickey was instrumental in the creation of the North Carolina Zoo and served as the North Carolina Zoo Authority chairman for eleven years.

He faithfully served First Baptist Church for over 65 years in many roles including Boy Scout leader, Sunday School Teacher and Deacon.

Above all else, Mickey’s family was his world and we were blessed to be his.  We will miss him always.

He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 69 years, Thyra Shackleford Little; daughters, Debra Little Bunn (Wilton) of Garner, Patricia Little of Wilson, Beverly Little Edwards (Stephen) of Raleigh and Paula Little of Morganton; grandchildren, Courtney Brocious, Wilton Bunn III, James Bunn, Christopher Edwards and Nicholas Edwards; great-grandsons, Wilton Bunn IV and Holden Brocious; sister, Barbara Douglas (Harvey) of Wilson and sister-in-law, Mary Little of Wilson.
