Maxine Stewart

April 22, 1928 — September 19, 2014

WILSON - Jean "Maxine" Stewart, 86, of Wilson, died Friday, September 19, 2014.

Her family will be at Wilson Memorial Service, Saturday, 11 AM - 12 Noon. Inurnment will be beside her husband, Arlege E. Stewart, in Chestnut Hill Memorial Park, Akron, OH, at a later date.

Maxine was born and raised in Barberton, OH and moved to Wilson six and one half years ago at age 80. Maxine continued to carry her Ohio family dearly in her heart.

She had five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren to whom she loved with all her heart and cherished every minute she spent with them. The compassion and love for her family was felt simply in her presence.

Maxine never met a stranger. While in Wilson, Maxine volunteered for a period of time at Wilson Medical Center and was a member of the Widows Group, AARP and the Silver Service at Wilson Medical Center. Wednesdays were the highlight of her week by first having lunch with Pearl and Iris and then off to the Senior Center to WIN at Canasta. She met so many wonderful ladies and thoroughly enjoyed the fun they shared as well as enjoying the Thursday evening dinners at the Senior Center. Maxine loved her flower garden and would spend many hours tending to her beautiful plants and shared that love with others.

She is survived by her daughters, Jean Stolarik (David) of Wilson, Colleen Kemp of Akron, OH; grandchildren, Kelly Evans (Thomas) of Wilson, Shannon Holt (Timothy) of Apex, Brian Stolarik (Coury) of Durham, Chad Owen of Canal Fulton, OH, Cheri Owen of CA; great-grandchildren, Aspen Evans of Wilson, Ryker Evans of Wilson, Harper Holt of Apex, Dean Holt of Apex, Tyler, Kyle, Preston, Cameron and Ryan Owen all of Barberton, OH.

In lieu of flowers, to spread her love of children and flowers, memorials are suggested to Wilson Botanical Gardens/Children's Secret Garden, 1806 Goldsboro St SW, Wilson, NC 27893-8568.
