October 11,1930-May 17,2010 WILSON - Mary Louise Barnes Smith died Monday, May 17, 2010 at home after a brief illness. Funeral, Thursday, 11 AM, First Presbyterian Church, followed by a time of visiting. A native of Wilson, she was a daughter of the late John T. and Mary Ford Barnes. She was graduated from Charles L. Coon High School and Woman's College of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was active in her church. Surviving is her husband of 53 years, Will Carr Smith; daughters, Mary Eliza Duckett and husband, Chip, of High Point and Susan Johnson and her husband, Graham of Raleigh; sons, William Smith and wife, Landon, of Raleigh and John T. Smith and wife, Stephanie, of Wilson; grandchildren, Will, Charles and Sam Duckett; William and Lucy Smith; Gray, Tyler and Charlie Johnson, John T., Carr and Louise Smith; sister, Elizabeth Pace Barnes and her companion, Thomas Harris, of Miami Beach, FL; her brother-in-law, Richard T. Smith and wife, Betty Jon, of Wilson; her special cousins, Diana James of Wilson and Nancy Kirk of Raleigh. The family will receive friends at home, Wednesday, 6 - 8 PM.
