WILSON - Mary LeGwin Wooten Lamm, 92, died Saturday, January 26, 2013.
Funeral, Tuesday, 11:00 AM, First United Methodist Church. Interment, Maplewood Cemetery.
A native of Kinston, she was the daughter of James Frank and Eliza Jarman Wooten. In 1941, she married the late Riddick Madison Lamm whom she met when she was Queen of the Wilson Tobacco Festival. For the next 72 years, she made Wilson her home. She was a devout and loyal member of First United Methodist. Her summers were spent on the beach at The Coral Bay Club where she loved to greet everyone and get all "roached" up for the evening activities. She loved the game of bridge and played until her illness this year.
Mary LeGwin was devoted to her four children, five granddaughters and six great grandchildren to whom she taught many valuable life lessons.
She is survived by sons, Riddick Madison Lamm, Jr and wife, Sarah Anne, Rudson Wooten Lamm and wife, Martha; daughters, Mary LeGwin Lamm Brock and husband, Larry, and Eliza Lamm Gauss and husband, Harry; granddaughters, Anne Lamm Joyce and husband, Jimmy, Sarah Lamm Dickson and husband, Christopher, Mary Eliza Lamm McRae and husband, Charles, Mary Riddick Gauss Stallworth and husband, William, and Anna Wooten Gauss; great-grandchildren, Wooten Joyce, James Joyce, Thomas Dickson, John Riddick Dickson, Madison McRae, Spencer McRae and brother-in-law, Harry Linwood Lamm. Other than her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Helen Kleine Jones.
The family will receive friends at Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream, Monday, January 28, 6 - 7:30 PM, and other times at her home, 715 Trinity Drive.
