WILSON - On March 2, 2015, Mary Patience McFall Dibrell, 88, was called home to be with her heavenly Father.
The funeral will be Friday, 11 AM, at Saint Timothy's Episcopal Church, 202 Goldsboro St E, Wilson. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
She was born on December 9, 1926 in Danville, Virginia, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Haskins McFall. Following his service to his country in World War II, she was united in marriage to her college sweetheart, James Fuller Dibrell, on June 19, 1949, in their home town of Danville. Drawn to Wilson by the Golden Leaf and family, the couple settled in Wilson to build their life together. After 38 years of marriage, James Fuller preceded her in death on September 28, 1987.
Mary Patience is survived by her children; James Fuller Dibrell, Jr. of Wilson, Patience Dibrell Ergish of Rocky Mount and Frances Dibrell Bisby of Raleigh; four grandchildren who will remember with great joy the gifts of Nana's love and life beautifully lived, Patience Woodard Ergish, Mary Anna Ergish, Lauren Taylor Vess and Jordan Bailey Vess.
Throughout her life, her family, church and friends were blessed as the recipients of her absolute devotion. Mary Patience served Wilson's Saint Timothy's Episcopal Church on the Vestry, Alter Guild, and soup kitchen; Rocky Mount's Church of the Good Shepherd on the Alter Guild. She helped the community launch and support Greenfield School; and remained ready always as mother, companion and closest confidant. The heavens will shine brighter upon us now that she has returned to watch over us all from heaven's gates.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Community Soup Kitchen at Saint Timothy's, PO Box 2091, Wilson, NC 27894-2091.
