WILSON - Marie Holland Gilbert, 82, died Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Parkwood Village.
Funeral, Friday, 2:00 PM, Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream Drive. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, in 2004, who is buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Fremont, where she will be buried with him and her parents, Ben and Mary Pierce Holland, as well as several sisters and brothers.
Marie had a warm and kind smile for her children, Neal Gilbert (Trudy) of Farmville, Michael Gilbert (Lauren) of Olney, MD, Craig Gilbert (Susie) of Durham; daughter, Melissa Gilbert of Columbia, SC; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; sister,Mary Lee H. Allen of The Pines, Goldsboro; a special friend who became like family many years ago, Mary Barnes of Pikeville.
A special thanks is extended to Doctors Richard Burdick, Keith Lerro, Deborah Boyd, Margaret Metts, their staff members and to all her wonderful friends and staff at Parkwood Village for their special care and attention.
