LUCAMA - Marie Johnson Barnes, 89, died Saturday, July 18, 2015.
Funeral, Tuesday, 6:00 PM, Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream Drive, Wilson, followed by a time of visiting and sharing. Interment, Wednesday, 9:00 AM, Evergreen Memorial Park.
She was the widow of Fate Barnes who died in 2000. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Many will remember her and her outgoing personality as she helped them for the many years she was at Heritage Bank. She was a member of the Lucama United Methodist Church. In her final years, she became known as the "yodeling lady" at Spring Arbor.
She is survived by sons, Greg Barnes (Lynn) of Lucama and Ronnie Barnes (Becky) of Kenly; grandchildren, Beth Barnette (Willie) of Lucama and John Barnes (Emily) of Lenexa, KS; a great-grandchild, Braxton Barnette; brother, Hampton Johnson of Benson and a sister-in-law, Rachel Wheeler of Four Oaks.
