Marian Griffin

July 22, 1936 — January 27, 2013

ELM CITY - Marian Taylor Griffin, 76, of the Pleasant Hope community, died Sunday, January 27, 2013.

Funeral, Wednesday, 7:00 PM, Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream Drive, Wilson followed by visiting and sharing. Burial, Thursday, 11:00 AM, Evergreen Memorial Park.

Surviving is her husband, Thomas "Tom" Griffin; daughters, Ginger Garrou (Kelly) of Elm City and Allison Dorsey of Wilson; son, Allen Griffin of Elm City; grandchildren, Thomas Steelman, Dallas Dorsey, Joel Griffin, Heather Griffin and Rachel Garrou; former son-in-law, Chip Dorsey of Elm City. Extended family, Jane Davis, JoAnn Griffin and Jenny Williams.

She had an incredible and unconditional love for her family and her family had great love and respect for her. The family will forever cherish her precious memory. She was the perfect wife, devoted mother and doting "Nana" that can never be replaced. She was a faithful member of her church, Pleasant Hope Missionary Baptist, for over 65 years where she was loved and best known as "Ma Teensy". She freely gave of herself in many ways where she served Christ in many ways. She was known for her sense of humor and compassion for others.

A special thank you is extended to Hilda Tant for her support and tender loving care, as well as her loving church family for their continual support and prayers. Appreciation is also extended to Dr. Huffman and his caring staff.
