WILSON- Margie Peele Pittman, 83, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011.
Funeral, Saturday, 10 AM, Harvest Baptist Church, 4851 Bloomery Rd, followed by a time of visiting.
Margie, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many, went to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family. Margie had a great zest for life and a passion for serving God and her passing leaves a great void. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Harvey Pittman, Jr; brother, Worth Peele; sisters, Iola Davis, Agnes Vestor, Dorothy Wall and Marie O'Brian.
She was employed for many years by Carolina General Hospital and Wilson Medical Center as a medical technologist. She spent a great deal of her time in service to others and was a volunteer for the Wilson Rose Garden, St Timothy's Soup Kitchen, the Black Creek Extension and Community Association and a member of Harvest Baptist Church.
Surviving are her children, Bill Pittman (Judy) of Raleigh, Tom Pittman of Morehead City, Betsy Pittman of Raleigh, Jenny Slaughter of Wilson, Jan Boykin (John) of Wilson; brother, Russell Lee Peele (Joyce) of Stancil's Chapel; special niece, Jeannie Lyndon (David) of Wilson; grandchildren, Rebekah and Rachel Boykin, Clay Pittman, Will, Hannah and Maggie Slaughter, Will and Elizabeth Pittman, Emory, James and Lewis Lyndon.
