WILSON - Luther Haywood Barnes, Jr., 91, died Friday, March 31, 2017.
Funeral, Sunday, 2:00 PM, Wilson Memorial Service, followed by a time of visiting and sharing. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.
He was in the Marines and fought in World War II and was a salesman for Gray Concrete & Pipe Company until his retirement.
Surviving is his wife, Mary Fields Barnes; daughters, Mary Beth B. Fields (Frank) of Charlotte and Amy Jo B. Sledge of Waynesboro, VA; son, Haywood Barnes (Debbie) of Charlotte; granddaughters, Meredith, Ridgely, Emmie and Millie; grandsons, Webb (Jessica), Blaine, Benjamin and William; sisters, Edna Atkinson (Ernest) of Sanford and Peggy Barnes of Wilson.
The family wishes to extend their love and appreciation to his devoted caregiver, Jackie Bryant.
