June 20, 1925 — April 4, 2020

STANTONSBURG - Emily Lucille Morgan Page, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all she met, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at the age of 94.

“Miss” Lucille was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Charlie Edgar Page, and her parents, Ernest Franklin Morgan and Mary Lucindy Langley Morgan.  She is survived by her sons, Charles Daniel Page (Barbara) and Willie Barrett Page (Diana); her grandchildren, Susan Agar, Shannon Harris and Sherry Stallings; her great grandchildren, Tyler, Caroline and Lindsey Harris, Summer Pierce, Hannah Harrison (Jacob) and Ethan Stallings; and many nieces and nephews.

“Miss” Lucille’s love of all people was evident throughout her life’s work and commitment to her church.  She began her work career at Carolina Telephone and Telegraph in Tarboro before marrying Charlie in 1944.  Her careers included a manager of farm hands, a sales clerk at Charles and J.C. Penney Department Stores, a Migrant Tutor under the Title One Program and a Primary Reading Tutor for Wilson County Schools.

Her long and faithful involvement at First Baptist Church in Stantonsburg included singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School classes, Baptist Training Union Director and she was a strong believer in the Women’s Missionary Union. She held many positions, both locally and regionally, for the WMU.  She frequently “preached” for Women’s Day and/or Senior Citizens Sundays.  At 88, she retired from teaching the Senior Adult Sunday School class but continued attending church activities as long as she was physically able.

A service will be held for the immediate family. A celebration of her life will be held at a public memorial service at a later date.
