Fremont - Louise Mayo Newsome died Saturday, April 30, 2016.
The funeral will be Sunday, May 8, 3:30 PM, at Fremont Missionary Baptist Church, followed by visitation. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Newsome was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Newsome in 1991 and her sisters, Martha Robertson and Hazel Krauss. She attended Flora MacDonald and ACC (Barton) Colleges. Mrs. Newsome was organist and choir director at her church for over 73 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Gwili Vick (Joe) of Nashville; son, Joe Newsome, Jr. (Linda) of Clemmons; grandchildren, Woody Parker (Tammy) of Mooresville, Mary Lou Church (Keith) of Wilkesboro, Doug Parker of Raleigh, Joel Newsome of New York City and Jamey Newsome (Jennifer) of Cartersville, GA; great-grandchildren, Alex Parker, Holly and Parker Church, Mary Ryan and Leah Nicole Newsome; sister, Doris Brown of Bremen, GA.
