Louise Manning

Louise Davis Manning, 87, died Monday, March 20, 2023, in her home.

Funeral, Thursday, 11:00 AM, Wilson Memorial Service, followed by visitation. Burial, Bailey Cemetery.  

Surviving is her daughter, Carla M. McCurdy (Patrick) of Sherman, TX; grandsons, Kendall Manning (Brandy Davis) of Bailey, Joey and Gavin McCurdy; granddaughter, Alice Bernier (Zachery); great-granddaughters, Lillith Nicole Bernier, Aubrey Louise Manning of Bailey; sisters, Valerie Willams (John) of Raleigh and Annette King of McKinney, TX; niece, Paula King (Eric) of McKinney, TX.

Preceding her in death in 1993 was her husband, Earl; parents, George Oliver and Doris Victoria Bissette Davis of Nash County; sister, Teresa Davis, and brother, Lewis Davis, both in just the last year.

Louise grew up in Bailey graduating from Bailey High School. She spent two years in France with her husband, Earl, while he served in the Army. They returned to Richlands and Jacksonville where she worked at Camp Lejune. While there, they enjoyed their cottage at Surf City.

They would later return to the Bailey area where she became active in the Bailey United Methodist Church. She worked for and retired from the federal government and the State of North Carolina. She had fond memories of working in her garden and being involved in family gatherings.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
