Lib Johnson

BAILEY - Mary Elizabeth "Lib" Boykin Johnson, passed into eternity to be with her Savior on Monday, October 5, 2015.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Bailey Baptist Church, 6646 Deans Street, Bailey with visitation following. Burial will be in Bailey Cemetery.

She was the daughter of Walter Thomas Boykin, Sr. and Lizzie Bunn Boykin.

After graduating from Rock Ridge High School, Mrs. Johnson attended East Carolina Teachers College (now East Carolina University) in Greenville. She worked along with her husband for many years in the grocery business and with Stone Auction Company. She served as church clerk and was in the Adult Choir at Bailey Baptist Church, also for many years.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, Daniel L. "Dan" Johnson of the home; son, Walter L. "Walt" Johnson (Linda) of Wilson; daughter Cathy Johnson Wells (Walter) of Bailey; grandson, Michael Howard Johnson of Burlington; granddaughter, Amanda Moore Badger (Alex) of Raleigh; great-grandsons Jonathan Daniel Moore, Jr. of Bailey and Alex Keith Badger II of Raleigh; one sister, Katie Lewis of Wilson; and one brother, Roy Thomas "Tom" Boykin, Sr. of Kernersville.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Willis Boykin and Walter Thomas "W.T." Boykin, Jr.; five sisters, Sally Boykin, Ethelene Crowley, Cleo Deans, Thelma Flowers, and Bonnie Nichols; and a grandson, Jonathan Daniel Moore.
