Lavern Black, 91, of Fort Smith, AR died Sunday, March 4, 2007. He was retired from the Ely Lilly Drug Company where he worked as a Department Supervisor. Mr. Black was in the U.S. Army Air Corp having served in WWII piloting the P51 fighters over Japan. He attended Haven Heights Baptist Church and was a Mason at West Newton Lodge #707, in West Newton, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Parsons Black. Funeral, Saturday, 11:00 AM, Maplewood Cemetery, Section 2, Wilson. He is survived by his wife Norma; sons, Tom Black and Bill Black and wife Judi, all of Fort Smith; grandchildren, Bill Black of Fort Smith and Kelly Black of Bentonville, AR; five step daughters, and his favorite niece and nephew, Ann Johnson and Jimmy Crockett.
