MACCLESFIELD - June Bowen Wynne, 83, of the Penders Crossroads community, died Thursday, April 28, 2016.
Memorial Service, Wednesday, May 4, 4:00 PM, West Haven Presbyterian Church, 1001 W Haven Blvd, Rocky Mount.
June was a nurse for 36 years. She graduated from Parkview School of Nursing in 1953. Her nursing career began at Martin County General Hospital in Williamston and she later transferred to Parkview Hospital in Rocky Mount. She was one of the original nurses that transferred patients to Nash General Hospital in 1971 when the hospital was established. She retired in 1989.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Willie Elton Wynne; mother, Leila Blanche Mobley Bowen; father, Fernada Garfield Bowen; step-mother, Elizabeth Moore Bowen; and brothers, Lannie and Johnnie Bowen.
Survived by her daughter, Carolyn Wynne Nanney (Robbie) of Macclesfield; sons, Kenneth Wynne (Connie) of Texas, Edward Wynne (Charlene) of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Robert L. Nanney, III "Trey" (Donna), Pam Nanney Bunn (Mark), Raquel Rowe, Amanda Wynne Oertel (Duke), Scott Wynne(Bryelle); great-grandchildren, Lela, Bailey, Charlie, Chloe, Dylan, Logan, Sapphire, Kennedy and Cael; brother, Roger Bowen (Linda) of Williamston; numerous nieces and nephews; a special cousin, Peggy Dunham and her family.
