Judith “Judy” Baker Howell, 80, of Wilson, died Thursday, May 27, 2021.
Funeral, Sunday, 5:00 PM, New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. The interment will be for and at the convenience of the family. The family will be at the home of Cindy and Steve Harrell, 5120 Pridgen Road, Elm City.
Judy was born on July 12, 1940 in Wilson to the late Roy Jr. & Fannie Mae Baker. Judy loved spending time with her family and friends and especially enjoyed traveling with her husband Bill. They fell in love with the beauty of North Carolina’s mountains where they spent many wonderful years before recently returning to Wilson to be closer to family.
Surviving is her husband, William ’Bill’ Howell; daughter, Cindy Boyette Harrell (Steve), son Nelson Boyette (Mary) of Durham; grandson, Will Woolard (Mari); stepdaughters, Belynda Dietz (Jim) and Rhonda Howell; step-grandchildren, Jennifer and Lee Futch and Elizabeth Edmundson; seven step-great grandchildren; sisters, Linda Baker Bennett (Frank) and Donna Baker Dew (Ronnie) of New Hope; brother, Bruce Baker (Angie) of New Hope; several nieces and nephews.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Parkwood Assisted Living and Community Hospice who became Judy’s family during the last years of her life.
Flowers are welcome and memorials may be directed to New Hope Baptist Church, 5142 NC Highway 58 N, Wilson, NC 27896 or to the charity of one’s choice.
