WILSON - Josie Walton Dildy passed away on November 29, 2013.
A kind and gentle child of God, Josie lived her faith by unselfish service to others, often in ways that only those she touched knew. She is welcomed home to heaven as the angel she was here on earth. Her greatest legacies were her love and appreciation for each day of life, the patience she practiced in her undertakings, and the beauty and goodness she saw in everyone, especially those less fortunate.
She was born May 28, 1926 to C.B. and Mattie Baker Walton; one of three daughters and a son.
Her greatest joys in life were her children and grandchildren. Her beloved son J. Gordon Dildy, Jr. preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Sarah, and son-in-law, Mike Packard, her three grandchildren, Cameron, Averette and Phillip Packard and special family, Bobby and Debra Baker White.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, 6:00 - 7:30 at Wilson Memorial Service. Reflective of Josie's wishes and selflessness, a celebration of her life and interment will be held at a later date for the family.
Heartfelt appreciation is extended to the staff and residents' families of Bridge to Rediscovery at Parkwood Village, Wilson Community Hospice and Dr. Richard Burdick and his nurses.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimers NC, 1305 Navaho Dr, Ste 101, Raleigh, NC 27609-7448 or to The CHEW, (Children's Hunger Elimination of Wilson), PO Box 728, Wilson, NC 27894-0728.
