FOUNTAIN - John W. Summerlin, 74, of the Good News Church community, died Friday, April 26, 2013.
Funeral, Tuesday, 11 AM, Macclesfield Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Summerlin; mother, Zelphia Sutton Hathaway and step-father, Buddy Hathaway.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Hendricks Summerlin; daughter, Betty Sue Young (Todd) of Springfield, VA; son, Johnny W. Summerlin, Jr (Lynn) of Fountain; grandchildren, Wayne Summerlin, III (Christy) of Elm City, Terry Whitley (Brandon) of Elm City, Heather Webb of Wilson, Brandy Shelton (Junior) of Lucama, Brian Evans of Lucama, T.J. Young and Catherine of Springfield, VA: seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Webb of Fountain, Ruby Lee Webb of Elm City, Margie Herring of Goldsboro and Dorothy Carr (George) of MD; brothers, Jimmy Hathaway of Fountain, Hugh Summerlin, Jr (Thelma) of Elm City and Lewis Hathaway (Darlene) of MD.
The family will be at Wilson Memorial Service, Monday, 6:30 - 8:30 PM.
