WILSON - John George Bikle, Jr, 69, died at his home on Saturday, February 11, 2006. A native of Raleigh, he was preceded in death by his parents, John G. and Rubie Bikle. He graduated from Broughton High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was a member of Zeta Psi Fraternity. He moved to Wilson in 1959 where he was associated with Merrill, Lynch, Pierce, Fenner and Smith for 35 years until his retirement in 1997 as a vice-president. He was a member of the firm's Chairmen's Club and well recognized for his accomplishments. John was a long time member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church where he served as treasurer and as a member of the Vestry. Community service included his interest in the United Way, Heart Fund and, most recently, the North Carolina Baseball Museum. Funeral, Monday, 11:00 AM, St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, 202 Goldsboro St, NE. Interment, Maplewood Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Betty Bacon Bikle: daughters, Bettine Bikle Boyd and husband, Peter, of Holliston, MA, Ann Bikle Robertson and husband, Page, of Wilmington, Charlotte Bikle Daniel and husband, Ed, of Wilson: grandchildren, John Hampton Boyd and Hampton Williams Boyd, Ann Moore Robertson, Charlotte Parker Daniel and Edwin Speight Daniel, IV: sister, Catherine Bikle Currie of Raleigh: brother-in-law, Zack Hampton Bacon, Jr, and wife, Blanche, of Raleigh. The family will be at home, 2304 Quail Rd, NW, where friends are invited to visit, Sunday, 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, PO Box 1527, Wilson NC 27894, or to the North Carolina Baseball Museum, 2108 Chelsea Dr, NW, Wilson NC 27896.
