WILSON - John J. Allen, 83, died Wednesday, September 26, 2012.
Funeral, Friday, 2 PM, Upper Black Creek Church Cemetery, with military honors.
The family commemorates his passage into the kingdom of our Heavenly Father. John was born in the Bronx, NY, and served our country in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War as a US Marine retiring as a Gunnery Sergeant with 30 years of service.
"Papa" John is survived by daughters, Helen Barnes and Sandy Poythress (Bobby) of Wilson; sons, Ken Allen (Marye) of Rogers, Rogers, Arkansas and Neil McCaskill (Mary) of Saudi Arabia; grandchildren including Richard King (Shawna) of Kenly, Tracy King and Michelle Thomas of Wilson, Cynthia Bass of Tarboro; several great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Priore (Thomas) of Emerson, NJ; niece, Kathy Korkner (Walter) of Myrtle Beach, SC.
