Joan Winstead

ROCK RIDGE - Joan Winders Winstead, 60, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020.

A graveside service for the family will be held at Maplewood Cemetery.   Rev. Jonathan Ange will officiate.

Joan was a longtime member of Wildwood FWB Church in Wilson. She was a very talented decorator and enjoyed using her talents to help decorate the church for special occasions. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Joan is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Gary Winstead of Rock Ridge; son Jason Winstead (Cheryl) of Lucama; grandsons, Carson Winstead and Camden Winstead of Bailey; brother, Sherwood Winders and wife, Stephanie, of Goldsboro; sisters, Vivian Nordan and husband, Earvin, of Lucama, and Betsy Webb and husband, Larry, of Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Marie Sauls Winders, and brother, Richard Sauls.
