Jessie Daniel

WILSON - Jessie Finch Daniel, 92, of the New Hope community, died August 26, 2006, at her home. She graduated from Louisburg College and ECTC (East Carolina) and was active in the music program of her church as organist and pianist for over 50 years. She was the widow of John W. Daniel, Sr., and preceded in death by a sister, Helen McNeely, and a brother, Wayne Finch. Funeral 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, followed by visitation. Surviving is her daughter, Helen Shingleton (Dan) of Elm City: a son, John W. Daniel, Jr. (Janet) of Elm City: grandchildren, Mandy Andrews, Marney Black, Gretchen Hunt, John Daniel, III, Mac Shingleton, Jon Shingleton: 18 great-grandchildren. Memorials are suggested to Mount Zion United Methodist Church, 5923 Hwy. 58 N, Elm City, NC 27822. and was active in the music program of her church as organist and pianist for over 50 years.
