Jean Thorne

Fremont - Jean Newsome Thorne, 67, died Sunday, September 21, 2008. She retired from BB&T and was a daughter of the late Nathan and Emily Minshew Newsome. An active community volunteer, she lead the first Daffodil Festival in Fremont and served on the Aycock Birthplace Advisory Board as well as service in the Fremont Garden Club. She was a member of Frank Price Presbyterian Church. Funeral, Tuesday, 11 AM, Wilson Memorial Service, 2811 Fieldstream Drive, Wilson, followed by interment in Elmwood Cemetery. Surviving is her husband, Jimmie D. Thorne; sons, Michael Thorne
