Cecil Jamie Speight, 52, of Asheville, NC entered into eternal rest on March 23, 2025.
A graveside service will be Tuesday, April 1, 2:00 PM, at Evergreen Memorial Park conducted by Rev. LaVon Phillips and Rev. Daylon Mooneyham.
Born in Wilson County on February 14, 1973, he was the son of Ruby Ann Barnes (Louis) and James Franklin Speight (Angela). He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Cecil Armetis Barnes and Ruby Wilder Barnes, and also by a special Aunt, Cecelia Sue Barnes.
Jamie leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children, Logan Nicole Speight Johnson and husband, Bailey, of Pleasant Garden; Landon Douglas Speight of Raleigh, Jaydon Cole Speight of Burlington, and Ava Marie Speight of Burlington; granddaughter, Emerald Grace Johnson and twin baby boys that are due in July 2025.
Jamie also leaves behind a half-brother Scott Speight (Shannon), three stepbrothers; Keith Barnes (Susan), Scott Barnes (Renee) and Patrick Barnes (Tammy). Four special cousins; Sharon Mercer White, Tammy Pridgen Hill, Bruce Grant Pridgen II and Lee Ann Pridgen Goff.
Jamie graduated from James B. Hunt, Jr. High School in 1992. He attended Nash Community College and then went on to serve in the United States Navy aboard the USS BUTTE from 1993 through June 1995. He received the following while serving his Country: National Defense Service Metal; Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2); Southwest Asia Service Metal; Navy “E” Ribbon; and Armed Forces Service Metal.
